My Enterprise Data:  They Say It’s Secure, but Is It Really?

Over the past 12 months service providers and enterprises in multiple other industries have experienced a dramatic increase in database breaches and SQL injections within their corporate data structure.  Pertaining to security threats from both external and internal sources, this session will look at a number of data protection challenges such as enforcing access & change control policies for critical information, checking for data security vulnerabilities, understanding who has access to secure information and automating compliance controls.

Policy controls and the subscriber services of tomorrow

As providers squeeze network capacity to avoid costly infrastructure build-outs, customers and providers can experience service outages, low quality of experience and revenue stream limitations. What are the realities of offering more services, better quality and faster access to more people with finite resources? This presentation will provide case study examples of how service providers have implemented new policy control and charging systems to maintain profit margins, despite constraints on network capacity, while introducing innovative and personalized service packages.

Customer Service Assurance (CSA) – Measures of the Customer Service Experience are Showing Up Everywhere

While focus on the customer can take many different perspectives, the network connectivity layer is the backbone for any service offering be it fixed-line broadband, cable or mobile data. This applies to access services such as mobile data, IPTV service delivery and even IP-based voice.  Is service quality really that important for today’s content-based mobile offerings? The answer is a resounding YES.  Looking at the amount of interest CSPs have expressed over the past several months and the number of customer assurance projects now underway, this session will show why embracing a CSA strategy is a solid way to improve responsiveness to customer needs.  This ultimately relates back to higher retention rates and improved profitability.

Building Innovative Pricing Models to Break Through the APRU Glass Ceiling

The success of third-party applications has shattered the traditional business model and has terminated the operators’ end-to-end control of the value chain. Operators must respond to this by ensuring that their networks can support new services and marketing can package them in a way that is attractive and easy for their customers to understand. In parallel, by leveraging existing subscriber information, operators can deliver more relevant and effective promotions and up-sell opportunities, thereby increasing service adoption rates. This presentation focuses on optimizing the value of each subscriber to increase loyalty, which empowers the operator to push through the ARPU stagnation that many experience today.

Panel Discussion: A New Generation of Service Realities

This panel discussion will focus on implementation realities.  Is embracing the latest industry focus points a good thing or not?

  • What are the new technology service offering realities and how do they compare with those from a year ago?
  • Do the potential benefits of today’s new service opportunities with combined content and network connectivity outweigh the risks?
  • What do customers really want that they can’t get from the CSP community today?  Do you think they can get these capabilities from someplace else?
  • Do you believe there is still an OSS or BSS functionality “gap” that isn’t being addressed today?
  • Will the divide between business management and technology enablement ever be closed?

Panelist:

  • Dr. Ampai Pornprasertsakul, Deputy Director, Service Support Systems, True Move Co. Ltd, Thailand
  • Alex Leslie, Publisher, BillingViews, United Kingdom
  • Tony Kalcina, Chief Product Officer, Clarity, Australia

Moderator:

Susan McNeice, Global Director, Communications Infrastructure Systems & Software (CISS), Stratecast a division of Frost & Sullivan

What Is Coming Next?

  • What does the future hold?
  • Are customer expectations beyond the ability of CSPs to deliver?
  • Can user device technology improve even more?  If so, in what ways?
  • What can we expect from the technology investments made to date?
  • Will the mobile data bandwidth management issue get resolved?
  • How is the application developer community viewing CSPs in general and what do they want?

This session is designed to be interactive. Audience members can join in to share their views and thoughts about the future.  It’s no longer business as usual for anyone.
