Michele Campriani has over 15 years of experience in the service provider market and was previously General Manager of the Protocol Product Group at Sunrise Telecom.

Beforehand, he held several positions in HP’s Service Provider’s Business Unit. In his last position, he had worldwide responsibility of HP’s OSS business and was responsible for the OSS product and solution portfolio and for the HP Consulting OSS practice.

Other former positions in various European and US locations include Business Development Manager of the EMEA region, Marketing manager, consultant and an eminent member of the advanced research lab of HP.

An advisor to the Board of the TM Forum, Michele received a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in Italy.

Neil Tomlinson recently joined Anritsu, based in Denmark, where he is responsible for all aspects of Global Marketing. He has worked in the European and Global telecommunications industry for over 30 years and has held a number of professional and managerial positions.

Prior to this Neil was with Tekelec for 9 years were he held a number of senior positions with the final one being VP Regional Marketing. This profile included going to market strategies for Tekelec’s IMS Application product lines, “EAGLE” Signalling (SS7 and IP) and Next Generation Switching.

He has also spent 5 years with DSC (Now Alcatel), where he was involved in developing the EMEA market with the whole product portfolio. His final position was the marketing director for switch products where he was focused on Signalling and Network Intelligence.

Neil has also spent 16 years with GPT (now Ericsson).
He has a M.Sc. in Telecommunications Technology and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.

Jim Peters, Chief Architect, Service Fulfilment & Workflow Platform, British Telecom

Responsible for creating the target architecture for fulfilment within BT and the roadmap to get there from a mixed strategic and legacy estate of over 110 fulfilment systems.

Jim has been in the software industry for 23 years, following on from post graduate study in Computer Science. He worked in most aspects of software lifecycle, application coder, data designer, end to end solution architect and now platform architect.

At Celcom, Karan Ponnudurai is responsible for the development of all new multimedia, messaging and voice products.

Prior to joining Celcom, he was Vice President of Business Development and Technology for Softbank Emerging Markets, where he led direct equity investment activities and technology planning in the Asia South region.

Karan was also the founder Director of Worldwide Engineering in a wireless broadband equipment company, responsible for the design and development of spread-spectrum and signal processing products that was acquired and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. He was also a pioneer staff of Maxis Communications, where he was the Head of the Internet Business Unit that launched a variety of mobile and wire-line Internet services.

Karan started his career as an R&D engineer and Product Manager at HP, where he led the world-wide development and manufacturing of wireless testing equipment.
Karan has had extensive operational and business experience in the communications industry in various countries in South Asia and has worked in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Germany, USA and Malaysia.

He holds degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Malaya. At the Stanford University, Karan was a Krupp Foundation Fellow and has also completed the Asian International Executive Program for Senior Management at INSEAD business school.

Brian joined Comverse in 2005. He was based in Australia, focusing on the delivery of Comverse’s billing solution to Telstra and recently moved to Singapore where he has taken up the role of Chief Technologist Asia Pacific.

He has a rich Telecommunications and IT Industry experience of 35 years and has been directly involved in the design, build and implementation of four generations of Billing and Customer Care systems.

Prior to joining Comverse he spent 11 years in Asia:

  • 1998 to 2005 with Oracle in Singapore as Senior Director of the Telco Industry team and providing solutions to Communication Service Providers  in Asia.
  • 1995 to 1997 as General Manager Charging and Billing Division at TIME Telekom (a start up Telco) in Malaysia.
  • Prior to 1995, Brian was with Telstra for 21 years during which time he occupied many senior roles in Customer Care and Billing with his last role being National Program Manager responsible for Implementing FLEXCAB.

Radu Tomescu, currently APAC Business Sales Director with Comverse, joined the organization 2006. He joined when the it was acquiring Netcentrex, where he had served, since 2004 as Vice President of Asian Operations - a worldwide leader of Voice and Video over IP Application Servers market.

A native of Romania, he specialized, as an undergraduate, in International Trade and Finance at the Academy of Economics in Bucharest, Romania. He graduated in 1979.

He has also been a Visiting Professor at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, the University of Geneva’s IOMBA program, INSEAD, Yonsei University, Nanyang Technological University, and Bocconi University. He has served as an adviser to international organizations, governments, and major multinationals.

Vinnie is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and founding member of the US Asia Pacific Council. He has authored or edited 16 books and speaks five languages.
Vinnie received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and completed his master’s and Ph.D. with a focus on international political economy from the Stanford University.

As the Senior Director at Oracle Communications, Raghu’s role requires him to work closely with strategic customers in Asia-Pacific and ensure that they work closely with the organization as business partners in the long-term. His stint with Oracle began in August 2008.

Prior to Oracle, he was with Kenan Systems as a technical consultant and performed a variety of roles as the Kenan assets traversed through Lucent, CSG systems and Comverse. These roles included project implementation, product management and regional CTO.

Raghu has also worked in the role of a ‘trusted advisor’ to the telecom industry in Asia-Pacific for more than 10 years. He has worked with several leading communication service providers to help optimize the value of their OSS/BSS investments.

He is also responsible for building up the technical consulting team in Lucent Technologies’ Software Products Group across Asia-Pacific and drafting the transformation architecture and plans for Telstra. Raghu also served on the Architectural Review Board of companies such as Bharti (Airtel) and Telstra.

Prior to entering the telecommunications industry, he worked on implementing software solutions for the insurance industry. 

He holds a graduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and a post-graduate MBA diploma from a leading business school in India.

Joseph Waring is the group editor for Questex Asia’s telecom titles, which include Telecom Asia, Wireless Asia, TelecomsEurope and America’s Network. Dr. Pawel Grochowicz is a senior executive with experience in telecommunications and infrastructure and track record in driving transformational change in large organizations with impact at national level. A prolific international speaker on the future on telecommunications services, he is currently undertaking a sabbatical, travelling internationally and advising large telecommunications and infrastructure-based businesses on transformation and growth.
