Jim Peters, Chief Architect, Service Fulfilment & Workflow Platform, British Telecom

Responsible for creating the target architecture for fulfilment within BT and the roadmap to get there from a mixed strategic and legacy estate of over 110 fulfilment systems.

Jim has been in the software industry for 23 years, following on from post graduate study in Computer Science. He worked in most aspects of software lifecycle, application coder, data designer, end to end solution architect and now platform architect.

Brian joined Comverse in 2005. He was based in Australia, focusing on the delivery of Comverse’s billing solution to Telstra and recently moved to Singapore where he has taken up the role of Chief Technologist Asia Pacific.

He has a rich Telecommunications and IT Industry experience of 35 years and has been directly involved in the design, build and implementation of four generations of Billing and Customer Care systems.

Prior to joining Comverse he spent 11 years in Asia:

Radu Tomescu, currently APAC Business Sales Director with Comverse, joined the organization 2006. He joined when the it was acquiring Netcentrex, where he had served, since 2004 as Vice President of Asian Operations - a worldwide leader of Voice and Video over IP Application Servers market.

A native of Romania, he specialized, as an undergraduate, in International Trade and Finance at the Academy of Economics in Bucharest, Romania. He graduated in 1979.

Radu also holds a graduate degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, where he taught various Economics and Finance courses upon graduation.

Prakash Sadagopan is director of Product Strategy for Convergys Corporation in Asia Pacific, a global leader in relationship management. In this role, Sadagopan is responsible for mapping key market trends and strategic directions to product directions for Convergys’ Asia Pacific clients. 

Prior to this position, Sadagopan was director of Product Strategy for Convergys in the United States, where he held responsibilities for devising strategic directions and roadmap for the Infinys range of BSS/OSS products.

The last eight years of his career with Convergys have been focused on product management and solutions consulting in the field of Telecommunication Operation Support Systems. The portfolio has also entailed providing business & technical solutions, along with architecting billing & customer care solutions.

Sadagopan has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, covering multiple vertical markets, including telecommunications, insurance and manufacturing.

Manoj Menon is head the business management of the entire Asia Pacific region. Manoj started Frost & Sullivan in December 1996, as one of the pioneers, when the company was just beginning its trajectory into Asia. He has, since then, successfully grown the company’s presence and business in Asia Pacific by manifold.

Manoj continues to drive Frost & Sullivan’s expansion in the region, yielding the highest year-on-year growth to the group’s global business.

Throughout his tenure at Frost & Sullivan, he has consulted on multiple strategic and syndicated projects for leading multinational companies, regulators and government bodies, providing growth workshops and client counsels, among others. Toda, he is one the most sought-after speakers and thought leaders of the region, wherein his expert opinions have been heard at seminars and industry conferences globally.

He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree at Mumbai University, India and completed his MBA from ICFAI Business School, India. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Nitin Bhat, senior vice president, Frost & Sullivan, drives the consulting business for the ICT Practice in Asia Pacific. He is responsible for the performance of all custom consulting studies as well as syndicated projects.

Having worked on numerous consulting projects offering business strategies and recommendations to some of the world's leading multinational corporations and regulatory bodies, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge in the telecommunications and government sector.

Nitin is highly sought after for his insights, he is a seasoned presenter and public speaker, having spoken widely at internationally acclaimed trade conferences and various other customer seminars and conferences across the region.

Prior to joining Frost & Sullivan, he worked in the Equity Research and Risk Management group at SBI Capital Markets Limited. He was also responsible for the design and implementation of VSAT Network Management System (NMS) and SCADA systems during his attachment with India's largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer.

Vinnie Aggarwal is Chief Economist for Frost and Sullivan. He is also a Professor and Director of the Berkeley Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Study Center (BASC) at the University of California at Berkeley.

He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Business and Politics. He has also been a Visiting Professor at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, the University of Geneva’s IOMBA program, INSEAD, Yonsei University, Nanyang Technological University, and Bocconi University. He has served as an adviser to international organizations, governments, and major multinationals.

Vinnie is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and founding member of the US Asia Pacific Council. He has authored or edited 16 books and speaks five languages.
Vinnie received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and completed his master’s and Ph.D. with a focus on international political economy from the Stanford University.

Dave Burns is responsible for managing all pre-sales activities globally for Ixia's Service Monitoring solutions, ensuring Ixia internal sales teams are equipped with the proper training and guidance in Carrier Operation networks design, IP service deliveries, workflows and fault management processes.
Dave is also responsible for ensuring internal business development within Ixia to align with ever changing Service Providers assurance and verification needs and industry trends.
Prior to this he was with Bell Canada for 27 years where he specialized in carrier fault management, providing IP Layer 2 to seven test tools and solutions to operation help desks and test centers. He was responsible for ensuring that the proper test vendor capabilities provide the value-add solutions required to allow Bell Canada to proactively and reactively manage the IP triple-play arena end to end.
Dave earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Ottawa, Canada.

Silke Weber leads Orange Business Services (previously known as Equant) Regional Operations in the Asia Pacific region. With 17 years international experience spanning various aspects of the IT and Telecommunications industry, her objective is to lead a team, which excels in providing end to end services throughout the overall customer post sales life cycle.

She brings her experience and knowledge from previous roles within Orange Business Services such as Head of Customer Service Management, where she strove to achieve Customer Satisfaction targets through resource management and optimization and service production, while maintaining revenue responsibility on both a global and regional level.

Her other previous roles include Head of Customer Advocacy Asia Pacific and also Head of Sales.
Silke holds a Master of Business/Diplome des Grandes Ecoles and Vordiplom in Business Studies. A German national, she previously worked in France for several years and has been based in Singapore for the last 9 years.

Alan Duncan is Head of Practice for Pelion, a leading Australian Information Management consulting and solutions company. An expert in all aspects of information-enabled Business Strategy and Transformation, Alan has spent over 10 years helping leading telecommunications companies such as O2, Vodafone, Virgin Media and The Carphone Warehouse to unlock the hidden value embedded within their key information assets.

A regular speaker on the European Telecoms conference circuit until his recent move to Australia, he also has a wealth of complementary experience gained in industries such as Banking, Manufacturing, Utilities, Retail and Insurance.

Hasnul Suhaimi took over as President Director of PT. Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk, (known as XL, the 3rd largest) in September 2006. At XL, he has developed and executed new strategies to strengthen network, marketing, and internal consolidation, resulting in the company’s ability to provide low tariffs to the Indonesian market.

As one of Indonesia’s largest telecommunication companies, XL was first to initiate and has since been leading this market transformation.

Prior to his current position, he held several directorship positions – as Director of Consumer Marketing at PT. Indosat, (2nd largest), President Director at PT. IM3 (at the time 4th largest) and Director of Commerce at PT. Telkomsel (market leader). Hasnul started his career as an Instrument Engineer at Schlumberger in 1981.

Well known as a marketing practitioner, Hasnul’s ambition is to ensure that everybody in Indonesia is capable to afford mobile phones as an enabler factor in their daily and business activities.
He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology) in 1981 before proceeding with an MBA degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, USA.

Sumantri J Yuwono joined Indosat in 1998. He has close to 11 years of experience in Telecommunication Industry with Indosat and has held various roles – from project, network operation & maintenance to product development & management.

Currently, as VAS Management Division Head, he is involved in the developing and managing of Value Added Services such as Mobile TV, 3G Contents and Applications, Location Based Service, Wireless Broadband, Mobile Advertising, Roaming Services, etc.

Sumantri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Surabaya Institute of Technology in Indonesia.

Judi Rifajantoro is the Senior General Manager, Information System Center, PT Telekomunikasi, Indonesia. He has been with the organization since 1986.

In his role, Judi manages all the information technology systems and infrastructure development as well as operation to support the organization’s business. This includes OSS, BSS, CSS (CRM), ESS (ERP) and other related systems.

He earned his degree in Master of Business Telecommunication, Toptech Studies, from the Delft University, Holland in 1995.

Karl Whitelock has worked at a large local exchange carrier, global business consulting firm, network management software developer, and a large test and measurement supplier in addition to his experiences as an industry analyst for OSS/BSS operations.

His first-hand business analysis and real-time operations experience includes business strategy consulting, product marketing direction, systems requirements analysis, and solution software definition. He has also regularly addressed industry conferences sponsored by Frost & Sullivan, TeleStrategies, TeleManagement Forum and IEC on a variety of operations-related issues. 

Karl has produced regular assessments of the market trends and issues within the communications industry with a slant on how these trends affect the process and system (OSS/BSS) challenges all communications providers are facing today. 

Bui Thien Ha, director of external relations at VNPT (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications) has been associated with the organization since 1991.

He is also the chief editor of a Telecom & IT magazine that caters to the leaders and managers working in telecommunications and IT industry.

Bui Thien Ha earned his graduate diploma in electrical engineering from University of Transport and Communication in 1991. In 1996 he completed his Master of Electrical Engineering from Sydney University, Australia and then did his PhD in Telecommunications in the year 2000.
